5 Things We Hear Most About Wolcott:

  • "I feel like we have our child back." Students learn best in an environment where they can manage their schoolwork, extracurriculars, and enjoy a social life. At Wolcott, you will see the difference in your child and your family life!
  • "The faculty is amazing." Our faculty have chosen to teach at Wolcott because they want to work with our students and believe in the mission. They are our biggest asset because they are so effective. Come see us in action so you can understand.
  • "Wolcott knows how to use technology to best support learning." From our 1-to-1 MacBook Air program, to technology integrated into the classroom, we understand the importance of teaching students how to best harness the tools of the present and the future.
  • "I love the close-knit community." The school year is filled with dances, pep rallies, all-school community building events, and more. We know how confidence building starts with a sense of belonging and the support of friends. It’s nice to be in a place where people genuinely care about each other.
  • "Between college counseling and the essay writing boot camp, my student was well supported throughout the whole process." We believe that finding the right college match and fit takes time and expert guidance. That's why we start talking about college and what it takes to be successful in college well from the first days of high school on.

The Wolcott Difference

We are the only private high school in Chicago specifically tailored for college-bound students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, executive functioning challenges, inattentive ADHD, and other learning differences. Our dynamic and rigorous curriculum resonates with students who learn differently, transforming them into students who learn confidently.

We Teach Strategic Learning

Learning Strategies is a hallmark of the Wolcott experience. All students take a four-year course taught by a learning specialist to develop their organizational, testing, and study skills. Students also develop a keen understanding of how they learn best as they are coached and guided through our curriculum. It doesn’t just end with the course— strategic learning is integrated in all courses and activities.

We Are About Community

So much is gained from nurturing a close-knit community — persistence in achieving goals, respect for others, effective communication, and a sense of relief. You see it in our classrooms, hallways, lunchroom, and all corners of the building. Our programs are intentionally structured to foster belonging, inclusivity, and social emotional learning. A great launching pad for taking on new challenges.

Basketball, volleyball, track, tennis, golf, hockey, baseball, and sailing. Art, Dance, Instrumental Music, and Theatre. Robotics and Music Production/Engineering. We have scores of student-driven sports and extracurriculars and a motivated and encouraging community to cheer on our students. Go Wolves!

Our Bleachers Are Packed

"The relationships and guidance my son received from his teachers totally changed his experience of school and gave him the confidence to pursue his passion for the creative arts and media."
